Whitney Duncan “Skinny Dipping”

Review by Amy Blizzard

Blond bombshell Whitney Duncan first gained the attention of the national spotlight when she appeared as a contestant on the fifth season of 'Nashville Star'. Undeterred in her quest for stardom after Angela Hacker took the title, Duncan continued singing, pounded the pavement in Nashville and landed a record deal with Warner Bros.

As the new single from the upcoming LP, rumored to be titled 'Road Right Now', she will be releasing the carefree, timely mid-tempo 'Skinny Dippin' laced with raspy, pure Southern vocals; which longtime

fans may remember from her performance on Nashville Star when competitors showcased their own original material.

The perfect tune for hot days and summer romances, 'Skinny Dippin' focuses on a young couple tossing their troubles and clothes aside and jumping into the Mississippi River, feeling chills from the rushing water and breathtaking kisses. The chorus of Whitney Duncan's new song is catchy and makes you want to sing-along to the friendly melody.

Surely, lyrics about 'bare white tushes' will not sit well with some listeners who are staunchly conservative and will bring a little color to the cheeks (on faces) of those who are easily embarrassed. But at the core, 'Skinny Dippin' isn't meant to cause controversy, it only intends to provide a bit of flirtatious fun and succeeds.

Whitney Duncan "Skinny Dippng" Lyrics

Dirt road & his old truck
Lined with honeysuckle
Down that old beach bend
Saw the water through the tress
Saw the way he looked at me
With that sly southern grin
And he said I hope you know how to swim
We took off our clothes
Threw ´em in the bushes
Mud between our toes
Bare white tushes
Lord how´d he get me to do it
How´d he talk me into it now
Sunlight on the river glistenin´
And we were Skinny Dippin´
Screamin´ bloody murder
As he pulled me under
He took my breath for a while
Chills from the mississippi
Chills from the way he kissed me
We came back up with a smile
We´ll I never felt more alive
Took off our clothes
Threw ´em in the bushes
Mud between out toes
Bare white tushes lord
How´d he get me to do it
How´d he talk me into it now
Sunlight on the river glistenin´
And we were Skinny Dippin´
