Mercury Nashville recording artist, Easton Corbin, grew up as a country boy in rustic Gilchrist County, Florida where he spent his weekends at his grandparents' cattle farm tending to the land and animals and watching episodes of Hee-Haw and Opry Live after a hard day's work that instilled a love for classic country music in his soul. And even though Corbin did not lend a helping hand in writing his first single, 'A Little More Country Than That', penned by Rory Feek (from the duo Joey+Rory), Don Poythress and Wynn Varble, it still acts as a musical autobiography.

In 'A Little More Country Than That', Corbin easily steps into the role of a Southern gentleman defining exactly who he is to a special lady in his life, telling her to think of stereotypical country

traditions like dirt roads and pot holes or lazy hound dogs lounging in the yard and understand that his roots are much deeper than that. And after placing a ring on her finger and saying those three special words he knows other men have told her, he promises that he is sincere and if she accepts his love it is something that will always be hers' that he will never take back.

Easton Corbin's voice, which has drawn comparisons to George Strait and Joe Nichols, harbors an authentic country lilt without relinquishing a velvet texture that compliments the tune's palatable, memorable melody. And while the song's message may seem confusing at first, after closer inspection, it is refreshing to see Corbin placing a spotlight on country life beyond the redneck jokes that have become commonplace and focus on the strength of basic morals and loyalty ingrained in Southern hospitality.

Like the heartfelt subject matter, 'A Little More Country Than That' pays homage to the songs of yesteryear that influenced Easton Corbin's musical upbringing but also maintains a subtle effervescent quality that will not alienate fans of modern country music.
