The Georgia Theatre - A Classic City Icon
If you've ever spent any time in Athens Georgia, you've spent lots of time at The Georgia Theatre. I spent most of the nineties in the Georgia Theatre Balcony (I was the guy with the funny hat). Its a right of passage for young Southern singers and bands to headline the Georgia Theatre.

CMA Music Fest Review
The 2008 CMA Music Fest came to a close on Sunday. Kellee Gooch from TGJ was there to catch a couple shows and was impressed with the talent presented. From the big names to the new names they pulled off their best performances for the steadfast fans who braved the fierce heat, the rowdy crowds, and the four dollar a gallon gas prices.
Some of our favorites like Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, and Sugarland were clearly fan favorites as well! Sugarland found a new way to reach out to fans when they crowd-surfed the LP Field concert inside gigantic beach balls.
Miranda Lambert announced that her "Crazy Ex-girlfriend" album just went gold and put on a show well worth a diamond status.
Keith Urban made a surprise appearance to wrap up the second night. He promised a "show worth seven bucks a gallon", and he delivered.
Each night after the main show you can bet there was plenty of music still to be heard down Broadway. The lights were bright, the bands were loud, and everyone looking for a good time was out and about. Each year the CMA Music Fest gets bigger and better. TGJ can't wait until next year.
ATL Rising Star Nycole Valentina Rocks MTV
Atlanta Myspace Star and hottie Nycole Valentina rocked the TRL studios in an acoustic performance that's sure to generate buzz for this 19 year old powerhouse from Lawrenceville Georgia.
Nycole has been tearing up myspace (she had over 52,000 plays TODAY) and I'm positive this won't be the last we'll hear of this new sensation.
Today is Nycole's Day. She made the fake-emo competition look silly and represented ATL and Georgia in style!!
R.E.M. On Austin City Limits On Saturday

Each member of The Athens Guitar Trio plays a guitar built by Kenny Hill, and they perform with an eleven-string guitar. This addition has extended their range, and delights musicians and non-musicians alike with the unique sound.

The Athens Guitar Trio has played all over the world, and for several dignitaries, including former President Jimmy Carter (also from Georgia), Pulitzer-Prize winner William Bolcom, and Simone Fontanelli, professor of composition at the Mozarteum in Salzburg Germany. Members of the trio have collectively won three Georgia Music Teachers Association Spring Competitions.
