Of course, we'll definately keep you up to date on the band, and some other news as it comes along.
The 2008 CMA Music Fest came to a close on Sunday. Kellee Gooch from TGJ was there to catch a couple shows and was impressed with the talent presented. From the big names to the new names they pulled off their best performances for the steadfast fans who braved the fierce heat, the rowdy crowds, and the four dollar a gallon gas prices.
Some of our favorites like Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, and Sugarland were clearly fan favorites as well! Sugarland found a new way to reach out to fans when they crowd-surfed the LP Field concert inside gigantic beach balls.
Miranda Lambert announced that her "Crazy Ex-girlfriend" album just went gold and put on a show well worth a diamond status.
Keith Urban made a surprise appearance to wrap up the second night. He promised a "show worth seven bucks a gallon", and he delivered.
Each night after the main show you can bet there was plenty of music still to be heard down Broadway. The lights were bright, the bands were loud, and everyone looking for a good time was out and about. Each year the CMA Music Fest gets bigger and better. TGJ can't wait until next year.
Raised in Eastern North Carolina, John Brown has toured, written, and recorded music with major recording artists, producers and songwriters, such as Georgia's John Berry, Martina McBride, Billy Dean, Susie Boggus, John Hiatt and another Jukebox favorite, the Zac Brown Band.
A respected Nashville musician, John sowed the first seeds of his art with his 2003 recording, Next Of Kin. He also co-wrote the hit musical, The Bell Witch, with Nashville Chamber Orchestra composer Conni Ellisor that was nominated for the 2004 Benois De La Danse awards. John Brown's latest marquis success, the song "Real Things," co-written with mainstream country artist Billy Dean is the title track of Joe Nichols' 2007 major release.
Maybe it's Jackson Browne going country, Jimmy Buffet hitting land or Mark Twain moving to the farm with Foghorn Leghorn… a virtual BBQ-Baptist homecoming. Most likely, it's just John Brown being John Brown. Either way, John Brown has one thing in mind. Uniting with his audience to create an unforgettable experience.

Click The Play Button To Hear Zac Brown Band "Chicken Fried"
This was originally published on December 22nd 2007, right after we switched over to a blog format. We've been huge fans of The Zac Brown band for years, and his "Chicken Fried" was part of the original rotation on the online station.
If you saw Zac Brown walking down the street, you'd never think he was a rock star. If you're in one of the many venues he plays, you'll know that he is just that. His Latest effort, "The Foundation" showcases the young artist's brilliant song-writing, a smooth-voice and personality as big as the club he's playing, and this Cumming Georgia native is gathering a loyal following all throughout the south. And its growing every time someone hears his music; in person, on CD or on the internet.
The Georgia Jukebox is all about breaking down genre barriers. With The Zac Brown band, there don't seem to be any. Listen to a couple of Zac Brown Band songs, and you'll hear country, southern rock, and even reggae influence and undertones. He calls it "Lake Music". Whether is Alt-Country or Americana, or mainstream country music; who knows. We just think its good music.
We're sure nothing great things are in store for Zac Brown and his boys. He's already appeared several times on the Rick and Bubba Show, he's headlining a New Years Eve show at The Biltmore in Atlanta. He's spending most of January touring the Southeast, and will be a featured artist on The Rock Boat sailing January 19th - 24th.
We know this is just the beginning for Zac Brown and his band. We'll keep you up to date with Zac Brown news, and will keep a healthy dose of his music on our station at all times.
